Business one stop shop processes 1,542 permits

THE Business One Stop Shop (Boss) has already issued a total of 1,542 business permits as of Thursday, January 10, as compared to 277 permits in 2018 issued during the same period of operation.

City Licensing Division Chief Benjie Barredo said the number of applications submitted has reached 4,096 with 2,972 assessed as of Wednesday, January 9.

Last year, Barredo said the BOSS received 1,977 applications and assessed 1,655 during the same period.

The Boss will run until January 20 and will continue to expedite the process cutting the application duration from last year’s system of several days.

Under the law, business registration ends January 20 and late filers will be meted with 25 percent surcharge per quarter and two percent additional surcharge per month.

The BOSS is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. during weekdays and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends and holidays. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
