THE police arrested an elected government official for the crime of attempted homicide in Zamboanga del Sur province, an official said Thursday, January 10.
Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Luis Licup, Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula director, identified the arrested official as Dionesio Vender Cabalay, 30, Bag-Ong Kauswagan village councilor in Tambulig town.
Licup said Cabalay was arrested after serving warrant of arrest around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 9 at the riverside of Bogo village, Molave, also in this province.
He said Cabalay has standing warrant of arrest for the crime of attempted homicide with recommended bail of P36, 000 issued by the court of Tambulig, Zamboanga del Sur. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
