DAVAO City's tandem of Kinneth Fredz Tagunayon and Jeannette Ortiz, who clinched two gold medals in the IDTA Trophy 2018 President Cup Super-International DanceSport Championship in Shatin, Hong Kong last November, will again compete for honors abroad in the next two months.

Ortiz, 60 years old, who was among the guests of the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum at The Annex of SM City Davao Thursday, January 10, said, “We will compete in China in February and then in Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong in March.”

She said Dabawenyos are being looked up to in Asian dancesports, thus, they have been receiving invitations to send entries in tournaments in different countries.

“We are also eyeing to host an international dancesports competition here during the Kadayawan sa Dabaw Festival in August. We want to also help promote our city's tourism,” Ortiz said.

She added that the Filipinas Ballroom Amateur League is confident to hold such a huge event as they have already connected with some dancesports friends abroad who are interested in joining an international meet here. (MLSA)
