PRESIDENT Rodrigo has remained the "most approved and trusted" official among high-ranking officials in the country, according to a December 14 to 21 survey conducted by pollster Pulse Asia.
The same survey showed that House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo was the least approved and trusted official while Vice President Leni Robredo and Senate President Vicente Sotto III enjoyed majority approval and trust scores.
Pulse Asia's December poll results found that Duterte continued to enjoy the highest approval and trust scores, which were recorded at 81 percent and 76 percent, respectively.
The President's approval and trust ratings both rose by six percentage points and four percentage points, from 75 percent and 72 percent, respectively, in September 2018.
Duterte, the first Mindanaoan president, received the highest approval score in his bailiwick in MIndanao (96 percent), followed by Visayas (88 percent), Luzon (74 percent), and Metro Manila (69 percent).
He also posted majority approval ratings in classes ABC (87 percent), D (78 percent), and E (86 percent).
The Chief Executive likewise obtained the highest trust score in Mindanao, which was at 91 percent. This was followed by Visayas (82 percent), Luzon (69 percent), and Metro Manila (67 percent).
He also secured high trust ratings in Classes ABC (79 percent), D (74 percent), and E (82 percent).
Communications Secretary Jose Ruperto Martin Andanar said the poll results were a testament to "how this administration is attuned to the needs of the greater majority."
"This government will continue to focus on the goal of giving a 'comfortable life for all' rid of hard drugs, criminality and corruption," Andanar said in a statement on Friday, January 11.
Meanwhile, Robredo posted a 62-percent approval rating and 56-percent trust rating while Sotto registered approval and trust scores of 74 percent and 66 percent, respectively.
Arroyo, as the least approved and trusted official, received an approval and trust ratings of 27 percent and 21 percent, respectively.
Pulse Asia interviewed 1,800 adult Filipinos, using an error margin of ±1.3 percentage points at the 95 percent confidence level.
Subnational estimates for each of Manila, the rest of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao have a ±6.5 percentage points error margin at 95 percent confidence level. (SunStar Philippines)
