2 drug syndicate members, 3 others nabbed

FIVE people, including two members of drug syndicate group, were arrested by joint police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives in separate operations in Zamboanga del Norte province, the police said.

Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as: Gerry Bendong, 35; Juancho Regencia, 51; Ibrahim Laudin, 41; Hanson Dulla, 34; and Nasser Laudin, 51.

Galvez said Bendong, a member of Selda Sinko Drug Group, was arrested in a drug bust around 1 a.m. Thursday, January 10, at Purok Sidlakan in Upper Turno village, Dipolog City, this province.

She said seized from Bendong’s possession were 29 small-size heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride), P1,000 marked money and illegal drug paraphernalia.

Galvez said Regencia yielded suspected shabu packed in 11 small, one medium and one large sizes plastic sachets, P1,000 marked money and illegal drug paraphernalia when also arrested in drug bust around 4:30 a.m. Thursday at Purok Maalagaron in Lower Turno village, Dipolog City.

She said Ibraim Laudin, a member of the Sahibad Drug Group and his two companions, Dulla and Nasser Laudin, were arrested at 10:35 a.m. Thursday in Suhaile Arabi village, Siocon, Zamboanga Del Norte.

Confiscated from the suspects were three sachets suspected shabu with estimated street value of 1,500 and P500 marked money, Galvez added.
