COMMISSION on Elections (Comelec) spokesperson Krisna Caballero said they have listed a total of three million registered voters in Davao Region.

In Davao City alone, Caballero said there are 950,000 registered voters expected to cast their votes on election day in May.

Caballero also said that voters should look for their names ahead of time at the Comelec offices to avoid problems on election day such as missing names on the list.

“Tingnan na nila ahead of time para maiwasan na during the election day maraming magrereklamo dahil wala ‘yung name sa list. Actually ahead of time, mga February or March 2018, naka-post na po ang mga pangalan nila in case may mga concern sila,” she said in a phone interview yesterday.

“Para ma-cater natin sila ahead of time at maiwasan ang mga problema during election,” she added.

Meanwhile, Caballero reminded the public that the start of the election period will be on Sunday, January 13, which is also the start of the full implementation of the gun ban, until June 12.

On the same day, security personnel will also be deployed to ensure the safety and security of the public.

“Actually, yesterday we just conducted our coordinating conference together with the head of the Philippine Army,” Caballero said, adding that they have discussed the security measures during the election and there will be a series of meetings to be done to make the 2019 midterm election peaceful.
