THE 45th Silahis ng Pasko sa Baguio Christmas Season celebration came down with three prominent caring and sharing events last week with our leading city officials City Mayor Mauricio Domogan, Congressman Mark Go, CSWDO Department Head and yours truly at the helm for the Baguio Balikbayan Day welcome rites, the awards and recognition ceremonies for the 22 Most Outstanding Senior Citizens from the city and the Province of Benguet and the recognition program for the most outstanding international sportsmen from the KKISLAP offering of the National Correspondents Club of Baguio (NCCB).
Even with the inclement weather condition last Dec. 28, the program went on smoothly at the Baguio Sunshine Park. The pictures on this spread, courtesy of Colorworld recorded the historical event which is proudly a part of the Silahis ng Pasko sa Baguio episode. A simple “pinikpikan salo salo” in honor of the awardees and visitors courtesy of the CSWDO, City Tourism Office and the DOT-CAR, climaxed the city’s Christmas Season program.
Again, we would like to thank all the wonderful supporters, sponsors and event participants of the annual event which has been so blessed in many ways since it started in 1973 as a very special National Balikbayan Christmas Season program jointly sponsored by the City of Baguio, the Department of Tourism under the leadership of the late Tourism Secretary Jose Aspiras and the cosmopolitan residents of Magandang Baguio as a whole.
