AFTER almost seven years of hiding from the law, the number one most wanted person for the first quarter of 2019 in Abra was finally nabbed in Bucay town.
Rolando Nelosquin Bernese, who is charged with child abuse, was arrested by the Bucay municipal police in his residence in Barangay Layugan, Bucay on January 9.
Police served on Bernese an arrest warrant issued by Judge Raphiel Alzate of Regional Trial Court Branch 58 in Bucay for child abuse. Bail was recommended at P200,000.
Bernese was the prime suspect in abusing a minor in Manabo, Abra sometime in 2012. He went into hiding in Manila for almost seven years after committing the crime.
A 17–year–old male charged with qualified theft was also arrested on January 10 in Barangay Macray, in Bangued town by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Raphiel Alzate of RTC Branch 2, Bangued. Bail was recommended at P30,000.
On January 11, personnel of Bangued MPS arrested Freddie Navarro Vasquez also known as Pancho, 38, married, tricycle driver and a resident in Macray, Bangued by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Alzate of RTC Branch 2 for qualified theft with bail amounting to P30,000.
Chief Superintendent Rolando Nana, Police Regional Office – Cordillera regional director, lauded the personnel of Bucay Municipal Police Station for the arrest of the top most wanted person and encouraged all units in the region to sustain the operation against wanted persons.
