Unity walk, covenant signing for peaceful elections set

THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) will hold a unity walk and peace covenant signing for peaceful midterm and local elections in the city on Sunday, January 13, at the public plaza.

The activity will be headed by Senior Superintendent Francisco Ebreo, acting BCPO director, and city election registrar Mavil Majarucon-Sia.

The activity will start with a holy mass at 6 a.m. at the San Sebastian Cathedral followed by the unity walk around the public plaza and will end with the signing of the peace covenant by the candidates.

A prayer rally will also be held.

This initiative will be conducted simultaneously in all other police offices nationwide in view of invoking the intervention of the Almighty for a significant, credible, and honest elections 2019, a press release said.

All candidates who are running for various positions in Bacolod City, as well as Colonel Benedict Arevalo, commander of the 303rd Infantry Brigade of the Philippine Army, Bacolod Interior and Local Government director Ma. Joy Maredith Madayag, and other stakeholders are invited in the activity.

The BCPO hopes for peaceful and credible elections with the candidates showing their support and commitment in the attainment of its purpose and objectives.
