Davao City’s well-loved bag spa, Mederi, has finally opened a bigger shop to cater to more bagaholics’ needs on January 11, less than a year after they launched the spa along J.P. Laurel Avenue.
At the grand opening of the new Mederi, fellow entrepreneur and one of the spa’s biggest clients, Edeley Tarrazona, was the special guest of owners Ellen Luz Quilaneta, Chinggay Quong and Dr. Meliza Carla Agoilo.
When asked about their biggest motivation in finding a bigger home for the first and only bag spa here, they noted that there were a lot of factors considered. One major consideration, though, was the increasing demand for the different services they offer.
“There was a surge of bags coming in so we needed a bigger space for bag storage and a bigger work station. The ease of locating our shop, the parking space for our clients and their comfort were also taken into consideration,” they shared. “So, in only a few months after we started the business, we took the risk of acquiring a bigger space and so far it was one of the best decisions we ever made.”
Just like any other start-up, it was not a bed of roses for their first year of operation. They have several struggles but the good thing is they were able to manage them as a team.
“So far, the future looks bright for the company and we will continue providing quality service our clients deserve,” they said.
The three gorgeous women behind the company, who are certified bagaholics themselves, have surely never stopped thinking about giving more to their clients. Starting this year, Mederi already offers training courses for hobbyists, bag enthusiasts and those who want to start a bag spa business.

The rates? Clients need not worry about this matter. Mederi has kept their prices reasonable and definitely more affordable compared to their Manila competitors.
