P25 million worth of shabu seized from a 'high value target' in a police operation in Cebu City, Monday night.

A 35-YEAR-OLD suspected drug pusher identified as a "high-value target" was arrested in a drug bust on Macopa Street, Barangay Basak San Nicolas in Cebu City Monday night, January 14.

Police identified the suspect as Alfred Gabunia, a resident of Sitio Carbon, Barangay Ermita.

Operatives of the Pardo Police Station led by Chief Inspector Regino Maramag confiscated six large packs and three extra large packs of substance believed to be shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) from Gabunia.

The illegal drugs, weighing 3.6 kilograms, had an estimated value of P25 million.

Aside from the illegal drugs, police also found from Gabunia money transfer receipts with the names of his clients.

Senior Superintendent Royina Garma, Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) director, personally went to the area where Gabunia was arrested.

Garma said they have been monitoring Gabunia's operations.

She said based on reports, Gabunia gets his illegal drug supply from Talisay City.

"Talisay daw yung source nya, pinapaimbestiga pa natin kung sino yung pinagkonan nya ng supply," Garma said.

(Talisay is allegedly the source of his illegal drugs. We are still investigating his contacts.)

Garma said based on receipts they recovered, Gabunia's illegal drug sources are allegedly from Mindanao. (AYB of Superbalita Cebu/JKV)
