FIVE officers of the Central Luzon Police Regional Office (PRO-3) were awarded the “Medalya ng Kagalingan” on Monday, January 14, at Camp Olivas, coinciding with the first day of the election gun ban.
PRO-3 Director Joel Napoleon M. Coronel commended Superintendent Orlando L. Castil, Jr., acting chief of police of San Jose Del Monte, together with Police Officer (PO1) Jeremiah David B. Bangayan; Senior Superintendent Leon Victor Z. Rosete, Nueva Ecija Provincial Police Office acting provincial director; Chief Inspector Arnel V. Aguilar, officer-in-charge of San Antonio police; and Senior Police Officer (SPO2) Alberto L. Interia.
“We are quick in giving rewards to deserving personnel and acknowledge their notable deeds, but we are also swift and decisive in punishing the misfits and the undisciplined,” Coronel said.
He also urged the public to cooperate with authorities at checkpoints and reiterated his assurance that police personnel will observe policies and procedures, and will uphold their basic rights.
During checkpoint, motorists are advised to slow down; dim their headlights and turn on their cabin lights; and answer promptly if asked by police authorities.
“I have also reminded our personnel to be courteous to motorists and to adhere to general guidelines prescribed in our revised police operational procedures,” he further stated.
Carrying of firearms, other deadly weapons and explosives as well as its transportation is strictly prohibited from the start of the election period on January 13, 2019 until its end on June 12, 2019. Stricter penalties ranging from one year to 12 years imprisonment will be slapped on all violators.
