TEN groups from various provinces and municipalities in Western Visayas will be performing in the 2019 Fiesta Filipinas or Kasadyahan Festival at Dinagyang Grandstand in Muelle Loney on January 26, at 8 a.m.
The eight competing groups are Pinta Flores Festival of San Carlos, Negros Occidental; Kaing Festival of Leon, Iloilo; Hugyaw Festival of St. Therese MTC Colleges-La Fiesta, Iloilo City; Hubon Guimarasnon sang Manggahan Festival of Guimaras; Sugilanon Festival of Roxas City; Tultugan Festival of Maasin, Iloilo; Hambaro Festival of San Remigio, Antique; and Manughabol sang Salakayan Festival of Miag-ao, Iloilo.
Guest performers are Panganinao Festival of Iloilo Science and Technology University and Masskara Festival of Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.
“I encourage everyone to witness the fun-filled Kasadyahan Festival. This event will showcase the various festivals in Western Visayas that will be in Iloilo City to promote their colorful culture and rich heritage,” Mayor Jose Espinosa III said.
Last year, Hubon Mangunguma of Guimaras won the Kasadyahan title with Manughabol sang Salakayan Festival of Miag-ao and Tribu Pantat of Zarraga, Iloilo as first and second placers, respectively. (PR)
