Dinagyang liturgical events start

THE Parish of San Jose Church has set religious events in celebration of 51st Iloilo Dinagyang Festival 2019.

Starting on Wednesday, January 16 to 24, there will be Sto. Niño Mass in Ilonggo at 6 a.m.; Sto. Niño Mass in English for Parishes of Vicariate pilgrims at 7 a.m.; Sto. Niño Mass in English for City schools and private entities pilgrims at 8:30 a.m.; Sto. Niño Mass in English for City Parishes and Government Agencies pilgrims at 10 a.m.; Chaplet to Sto. Niño at 5 p.m.; and Sto. Niño Mass in English for private entities pilgrims at 5:30 p.m. in San Jose Church.

The image of Sto. Niño from Cebu is expected to arrive at Iloilo Airport 6:30 a.m. on January 16. There will be a motorcade which will pass through Cabatuan, Sta. Barbara, Pavia, and Barangay Sambag, Jaro going to San Jose Church.

The installation of Hermano Mayor and Hermana Mayor 2019 will be held at 5:30 p.m. in San Jose Church.

On January 17, the re-enactment of the Baptism of Queen Juana is scheduled at 5:30 p.m. in San Jose Church.

On January 19, the Sto. Niño Mass for the barangay children at 8:30 a.m.; Parlor games and snacks for the children at 10 a.m.; Talk to the Youth from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.; Caravan with Jesus and Mary to the 10 barangays of the parish at 3 p.m.; and Coronation of Niño Ambassador 2019 at 5:30 p.m. in San Jose Church.

On January 20, the medical and dental mission at 8 a.m. until 12 noon and re-enactment of the Coronation of Niño Dinagyang 2018 at 5:30 p.m. in San Jose Church.

On January 24, there will be re-enactment of the image’s arrival to San Jose and the re-enactment of the original merry-making at 4:30 p.m. around Plaza Libertad; floral offering to the monument of Reverend Father Ambrosio Galindez to be followed by a mass at 5:30 p.m. in San Jose Church.

On January 25, the fluvial procession from Fort San Pedro to Iloilo Customs House at 3 p.m.; Solemn Foot Procession from Iloilo Customs House to Muelle Loney, Iznart Street, J.M. Basa until San Jose Church at 4 p.m.; and Mass and Blessing of Sto. Niño images, pregnant mothers and children at 5:30 p.m.

On January 26, the mass for Kasadyahan contestants at 7 a.m. at San Jose Church and Grand Religious Sadsad at 7 p.m.

On January 27, the concelebrated high mass is at 6 a.m. before the Dagyang Tribes dance competition, while the thanksgiving mass will on January 28 at 5:30 p.m. (PR)
