Province increases revenue collection in 2009

BONTOC, Mt. Province – The Provincial Government generated a total revenue of P398,340,968.85 for fiscal year 2009, which is P53,041,904.93 more than that of 2008.

Of the total amount, P34,452,156.85 come from the province’s local revenue; P14,042,486.00 income from grants and donations; and P349,846,326.00 Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) share from the National Government.

Based on the record of the Office of the Provincial Treasurer, hospital collection greatly contributed for the local revenues that amounted to P23,462,152.53. This figure shows an increase of P5,732,869.46 from the total collection in 2008, which is P17,729,283.07.

The second contributor is the non-tax revenues that come from rentals from buildings, halls, equipment, certification/secretariat fees, permit fees (provincial), miscellaneous income, fines and penalties, and interest income which has a total collection of P4,974,429.40.

Record shows a decrease of P92,757.88 from the total collections in 2008 due to decrease of collections from certification or secretariat fees, permit fee, miscellaneous income, fines and penalties, and interest income.

Tax revenue collections that come from property taxes; taxes in goods and services like amusement tax, franchise tax, printing and publication; and sand and gravel tax generated P3,444,749.12. This has increased by P883,175.89 from the total collections in 2008.

Other business and service like sales of iodized salt produced by the iodization plant in Sinto, Bauko; NFA Rice resale and Mt. Data Hotel has a total collection of P2,570,825.80. (Juliet B. Saley)
