Yaw-Yan fighters invade Bohol soil

YAW-YAN Ardigma Cebu fighters will look to score impressive wins in an all-important fight in the 2019 Bohol Muay Thai Tournament in the Municipality of Alicia, Bohol on Thursday, Jan. 17.

ONE Championship mainstay Roel ‘Akiyama’ Rosauro and unbeaten Allan Albindo will lead the Yaw-Yan Ardigma Cebu team in their hunt for supremacy and start the year on a winning note.

“This is an important fight for them. A win will give the fighters a good start for the 2019 season. Aki (Rosauro) is raring to get back in the ONE Championship cage to get his first win, and Allan (Albindo) wants to continue his winning streak,” said the Yaw-Yan ArDigma Cebu founder and CEO Master Benigno ‘Ekin’ Caniga Jr.

The lightweight veteran Rosauro will take on Jervie Eslao from Butuan City, while Albindo faces Jerwin Caday of Mandaue City in a three-round bout under the light featherweight class.

Rosauro, 4-3, in MMA is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Sunoto in the ONE Championship cage. He recently won a silver medal in the 3rd Muay Thai National Championship in November.

Albindo, on the other hand, is coming off a gold medal performance at the 3rd Muay Thai National Championship as Rosauro’s Team Cebu City teammate. He has also been making waves in the pro-am stage, going unbeaten at 4-0 after a unanimous decision over Christian Campoy in May.

The show’s main event features on of the country’s premier kickboxers in Peter Paul Sonido up against Adrain Batoto of Las Piñas City, while Cebuano Edmund Vergara slugs it out with Peter Bayaras of Olongapo City.

The rest of the Cebuano warriors that are seeing action in the event are Ariel Regodon, Robert Balisaga, John Ver Espra and female fighter Alliah Torbiso.

Regodon takes on Adrian Tanala of Manila, Balisaga trades leathers with Andrean Quimbao, of Butuan City Espra locks horns with Edsie Oso of Roxas City and Torbiso faces off with Collen Saddie of Olongapo City. (RSC)
