Free bus rides for Lapu-Lapu City residents

THE Lapu-Lapu City Government will provide fee bus rides to Oponganons who will attend the novena mass on Thursday, January 17, at the Basilica Minore Del Sto Niño in Cebu City.

Mayor Paz Radaza said she would not want her constituents to experience the trouble of commuting via public utility vehicles to the Basilica to hear the mass sponsored by the City Government.

The mass will start at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 17.

Two buses will be parked in front of the city hall, waiting for passengers. The buses are scheduled to travel at 11 a.m. to avoid traffic.

Oponganons are also free to ride the buses back to Lapu-Lapu City after the mass.

Last week, Radaza said her office tried to find other buses to transport her constituents who want to hear the novena mass. The City Government only has one bus as the other bus needs repair.

She had planned to tap buses from barangays, but she did not pursue it for fear that the barangays' services would be hampered. Radaza then decided to rent a private bus.
