PDEA Central Luzon dismantles 2 drug dens

THE intensified anti-illegal operations of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Luzon (PDEA-3) led to the dismantling of two suspected drug dens in Angeles City recently.

Based on the documents obtained by Sun.Star Pampanga, the two drug dens were both situated in Barangay Sto. Domingo in Angeles City and are frequented by several street-level illegal drug users.

PDEA-3 information officer Glenn Guillermo said that the two separate operations are products of intensive monitoring activities conducted by the agency in its goal to totally halt the proliferation of illegal drugs in the community.

The first operation conducted through the assistance of Bulacan and Zambales provincial police and Angeles City police netted five individuals identified as Ezer Yparraguirre, 36, Mar Jose, 32, Angeles Cornelio, 35, Vicente Mediano, 31, and Rollie Sampang, 36.

Recovered from the scene were nine sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) weighing 11 grams with a street value of P74,800, along with various drug paraphernalia and the P500 marked money used in the operation.

The second operation, meanwhile, also resulted in the arrest of five individuals identified as Alinor Arong, 22, Joel Palo, 42, Mark Jay Roxas, 28, Rudymar Tapaoan, 28, and Archie Dela Cruz, 41, who were either caught in the act of using illegal drugs, or are inside the now-dismantled drug den.

Implementing officers were able to seize 15 grams of suspected shabu with a street value of P102,000, various drug paraphernalia and the marked money used in the operation.

The arrested suspects are now detained at the PDEA-3 detention facility and are facing charges for violation of Sections 5,6,7,11,12 and 15 of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
