AS THE Davao Region Athletic Association (Davraa) Meet 2019 opens on January 27, the Davao City girls’ futsal team has yet to complete attendance of players during training sessions.

This was bared to SunStar Davao by head coach Rachelle “Ching” delos Reyes in a Facebook interview Monday, January 14.

She said they have been training twice a day from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. and resuming at 5 p.m to 7 p.m. Mondays to Fridays at the Ateneo de Davao University (Addu) in Matina.

“Isa nako ka problema is ang attendance kay daghan school activities (It's a problem to have a complete attendance during training due to several school activities),” she said.

The team is composed of Addu Junior High School's Lianne Marie Co, Julien Meredith Mirto, Alessandra Ysabel Aquino, Shanelle Charllyne Ostan, Denise Angela Diamante, Jessica Marie Pido and Julianna Raine Taojo along with Addu Senior High School's Chiyo Jan Marasigan; Philippine College of Technology's Diana Cosare and Kecy Gelecame; and Philippine Academy of Sakya's Maija Ianthina Calizo and Thoni Rose Colegio.

Last year, Mirto, Taojo, Gelecame and Cosare formed of the Davraa girls futsal team in the 2018 Palarong Pambansa.

Marasigan and Ostan, according to Delos Reyes, also competed in previous Palaro.

Delos Reyes, however, is hopeful that they will be complete during the Women's Open Futsal Festival set on Saturday, January 19, at the Barangay Mintal Gym. The tournament will serve as a tune-up for her squad.

“This Saturday will be their last tournament before Davraa. In our last week of training, we will just do adjustments and game corrections. Hoping the players will be complete,” she added.

Analou Ingles will be her assistant coach.
