IF YOUR social media feed is blowing up with posts of your friends decluttering and organizing thanks to Marie Kondo, you are not alone. I myself declutter and organize my room, including my beauty stash, at least twice a year. If you happen to be Marie Kondo-ing your beauty corner, here are a few organization ideas I personally use that may inspire you:
Muji acrylic drawers
These minimalist and functional drawers from Muji are perfect for those, like me, who tend to forget what’s in their stash if they cannot see it. The two-tier sets have taller drawers for larger items like compacts, while the five-tier sets have shorter drawers that are just right for laying lipsticks or eyeliners flat. Even when we had a Muji store in Cebu, I still got mine from Singapore because Muji is considerably cheaper there. It’s a bit of a hassle, but seeing all my beauty stuff neatly shelved sparks so much joy!
If you cannot be bothered to handcarry Muji drawers from Singapore, there are plenty of acrylic drawers available locally. These cannot fit as much as the Muji drawers, but are enough if you have just a few products that you love. Depending on stock, I have found them in Daiso, The SM Store and Robinsons Department Store. Or, there’s always Shopee or Lazada! (Tip: I use these to organize my stationery, like Post-its and page markers.)
Speaking of Post-its and page markers, stationery drawers from National Bookstore are perfect to use for beauty organization. These are meant for filing papers, but when you have a library of blushes, these drawers can “file” them easily since you can see each pan and the color in it face up.
Makeup artists swear by these to lug around a lot of products that they need to see immediately, without adding a lot of weight. I use these when I travel; in case anything leaks, the mess will be contained and these are easy to rinse off.
