P959,000 shabu seized in 4 drug busts

DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) launched four operations and seized close to a million worth of drugs and arrested major “shabu” dealer in Davao City.

The series of operations is part of the Major Anti-Illegal Drugs Operations. On January 14, the Intelligence Branch of Davao City Police Office has received information that a certain alias Zoom, a resident of Agdao, was a major shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) dealer in Davao City.

After validating the report, a drug bust was conducted around 7 p.m. on the same day which resulted to the arrest of John Michael Duhaylungsod also known as Zoom.

Recovered were one sachet of shabu weighing 1.80 grams, marked money, mobile phone and Yamaha Sniper motorcycle from his possession.

Around 1 p.m. the following day, another drug bust was conducted at Ruiz Village, Barangay San Antonio, Agdao resulting in the arrest of Peterson Calpo Carriedo, 24, resident of the place and the recovery of three sachets of shabu weighing 13.96 grams, 12.83 grams and 10.40 grams, and drug paraphernalia.

On the same day, live-in partners Joel Vincent Del mundo, 21, and Garish Gay Umpad, 22, who were also reported and validated to be engaged in shabu-selling, were caught about 8 p.m., in Ponciano Bangoy, Cabaguio, Agdao where a .83 gram of shabu was recovered.

Also on same day, another operation was launched at 11:50 p.m. against Amroding Mala Rasid alias Koko, 34, resident of Dacoville, Toril, at Crossing Dacoville which resulted to the recovery of one sachet of shabu weighing 20.13 grams.

The four operations yielded a total of 59.95 grams with a total street value of P959,200 at P16,000 per gram per Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency assessed market value.
