They will set up their own areas, practice, and to familiarize with the area),” Sumagaysay said.

“So we expect na one week before muabot na sila so i-adjust namo ang mga tao namo one week before sa actual opening (We expect that a week before the actual opening, the athletes will be arriving so we will adjust our personnel),” he added.

The city will host the Davraa Meet anew on January 27 until February 2 where most of the sports activities will be held at the newly-built 20-hectare Davao City-UP Mindanao Sports Complex in Tugbok District.

Meanwhile, Jannette Veloso, Department of Education-Davao Region chief education supervisor, said they are now 75 percent ready in terms of preparation to accommodate some 10,000 athletes, coaches and officials during the event.

She added they have been working with the Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office for disaster preparedness and with the City Health Office sanitation unit for the security in food and against diseases.
