EXPECT hearty comfort food in the Western-style, casual dining place Sheriff’s Grill. Located in Canjulao, Lapu-Lapu City, the restaurant offers a “Wild West Feast” of pork and chicken barbecue, baby back ribs, crispy pata, and of course, Cebu’s favorite lechon, regular or spicy.

According to its company profile, Sheriff’s Grill is “mandated” to serve “delicious, great-tasting and value-for-money dishes.” Enjoy its wide menu selection in a family-oriented “Wild West Saloon ambiance, with a warm and friendly service staff.” To complete the ranch-like ambiance, there’s an avocado tree trunk to one side of the saloon and the servers are in cowboy/cowgirl attire.

True enough, there’s a wide selection of mouth-watering dishes. Starters chili dynamite cheese sticks, calamares and onion rings are favorites. For vegetables, the rellenong talong, pinakbet and adobong kangkong are great choices. Sizzlers are its bulalo, pork steak, chicken, squid, shrimps and bangus. Aside from crispy chicken wings, Sheriff’s Grill has the much sought-after native fried chicken. For soups, the chicken tinola, beef bulalo and salmon sinigang are hearty picks. And for the carbo lovers, the sotanghon and pancit canton taste just the way they should be. To go with all this food, one can have a glass or pitcher of refreshing cactus cooler or cucumber lemon.

After a heavy meal, there just might be room for dessert. Sheriff’s Grill proudly serves its blueberry cheesecake, the Filipino favorite halo-halo, leche flan and mango ice box cake. (For merienda, it serves cheeseburgers and French fries).

The other offerings in the menu, one has to try... but for another time, please. Even if the prices are temptingly affordable, one won’t be able to stand if he dares to taste— in one sitting—all of the dishes Sheriff’s Grill has to offer.
