A 20-YEAR-OLD motorcycle rider was arrested by local police in the City of San Fernando at a checkpoint late Tuesday night, January 15, for alleged possession of illegal drugs.
The suspect identified as Jerome Ocampo allegedly tried to evade the police checkpoint established near the Community Police Assistance Center (Compac) 4 along MacArthur Highway in Barangay Telabastagan.
A chasing incident between police and the suspect ensued until the latter was cornered. Upon inspection, the suspect allegedly yielded a sachet of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride hidden in a cigarette box.
Police then immediately arrested Ocampo who surrendered calmly and was brought to Compac 4 to undergo proper inquest procedure as he faces charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
