BAGUIO City Mayor Mauricio Domogan is supporting a move by the City Council to bid out the annual Session Road in Bloom (SRB).

The chief executive said the matter will be discussed in the next meeting with the Baguio Flower Festival Foundation Incorporated, implementing arm of the Panagbenga.

Domogan added there is nothing wrong with the suggestion of Councilor Elmer Datuin, chairman for the executive committee of the festival, to bid out the entire event to maximize profits for the city.

Datuin has pushed for the bidding of the Burnham Park annual trade fair, the Baguio Blooms, and has since earned P11 million for the city and wants to replicate the act for the seven-day SRB.

Domogan said he is supporting the move to have a sole operator of the annual trade fair to avoid the three-way tussle of power which happened last year.

The 2018 SRB was divided into areas for the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Baguio, the Liga ng Mga Barangay and the Philippine Councilors League.

The audit from the three entities is still being contested by each to this day.
