Good food at afforable price

KAGAY-ANONS are known as people who look for quality food at affordable price. They are not miserly per se, however, they tend to purchase food that they find worth it for its price.

Luckily, Cagayan de Oro City has a number of food establishments that can cater to their stomach's needs and their budget.

One such place can be found along Tiano-Luna Street, this city called Roda Fastfood.

Owned by RJ Dayak, Roda Fastfood offers quality Filipino food at an afforable price.

Serving dishes that are usually cooked at home, Roda targets the palate of the students, young professionals, and hospital and bank workers near the area.

Among its best selling dishes are their Pancit ala Roda and their combo meal which consists of rice, meat, vegetables and softdrinks for only P70, an affordable meal especially for the customers, particularly the students, who are on a budget.

Other food in their menu include: Roda Lechon Macau, Steamed Lapu-Lapu, Beef Steak, Sizzling Sisig, Bulalo, Crispy Pata, Patatim, Chopsuey, Pancit Canton, Bihon, Miki Bihon Guisado, among others.

Roda Fastfood for beverages, apart from soft drinks, they have fruit shakes such as Mango Float Shake, Roda Shake, Avocado Shake, Papaya Shake, Cantaloupe Shake, and others.

And since it opens as early as 6 a.m., Roda Fastfood also serves breakfast meals like Tapsilog, Cornsilog, Longsilog, Hotsilog, among others.

It also has a function room on its second floor that can accommodate 50 people.

According to Dayak, Roda Fastfood existed for 11 years. It started as a simple selling of food packed in plastic, from his mother's idea to provide something to eat every lunch for the workers who were working on the construction of a building near their residence in Binondo, Manila.

Seeing the potential in food business, his mother decided to put up an eatery to cater to more customers as the people buying their products started increasing.

And when the construction of the commercial building was finished, they rented a space in its ground floor to open a fastfood store named Roda Fastfood. It lasted for eight years until a certain circumstance made them close the shop and find another place to put up their business.

And around 2015, Dayak, after opening up several other businesses and working various jobs in Cagayan de Oro, decided to open Roda Fastfood in the city.

Dayak said Roda Fastfood is a business not just to gain profit, its something to give back to the community by providing quality food at affordable price to those who are hungry.

Roda Fastfood opens at 6 a.m. until 9 a.m. from Mondays to Saturdays.
