DepEd assures `best accommodations’ for Davraa delegates

DEPARTMENT of Education (DepEd) Davao Chief Education Supervisor Janette Veloso said the Davao Region Athletic Association (Davraa) Meet 2019 delegates will be provided with “first-class mattress” and beddings.

During the Ispeak Media Forum on Thursday, January 17, Veloso said that the city government of Davao and Deped 11 worked together to provide some 7,000 delegates the “best” accommodation.

“In terms sa tulugan ng ating mga athletes, napakaganda ng po ng preparation ng Davao City because they will be sleeping on a first-class mattress, including the pillows and so with the blankets,” Veloso said.

“Hindi po sila parang pulubi. They will be well taken cared of by the host division and the offer of the city in all the school seems like they are in a first-class hotel, I can say,” she added.

She also said that she could assure the comfort for participants because all their needs will be provided including water supply and ventilation.

“All has been provided including the complete array of comfort rooms and ensure that they will also be protected from dengue kasi meron ng mga screens and mga schools natin,” Veloso said, adding that they already worked with the City Health Office (CHO) on this.

“Our schools are provided with water dispenser so that our athletes will have access to potable water,” she said.

Meanwhile, Veloso underscored that Deped and the city did not ask or receive any solicitation to add to the fund or facilities needed for the event.

“We did not resort to any solicitation. It is really the collaboration of different schools. The schools division has a very long preparation,” she said.

However, the Davraa Meet 2019 budget was not disclosed.
