MICMIC Miranda and Baby Bacon started their season on a high note as they snagged the first award for the year after ruling their respective divisions in the Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association (Cetba) Friday Bowler of the Month Tournament at the SM City Cebu Bowling Center on Friday night, Jan. 18.
Miranda, a 20-handicapper, finished the five-game tournament with a total score of 1,106 from rounds of 203, 190, 209, 182 and 222 to win the men’s division with a 53-point edge over senior bowler Marvin Sevilla.
Sevilla fired a total of 1,053 and settled for second place, while Jefferson Tan scored 1,035, Roland Bantilan had 1,010 and Engr. Docdoc Gothong had 1,002 to complete the men’s top five.
The 41-handicapper Bacon canned in a total of 1,007 to win the women’s class with a 57-point margin over senior bowler Cynthia Uybengkee. Bacon had a steady game with scores of 157, 180, 154, 152 and 159, while Uybengkee put up scores of 169, 142, 161, 146 and 127.
Emi Osada finished at third place with 944, senior bowler Inday Aguilar at fourth place with 939 and Cristilyn Tan with 927. (RSC)
