THE Asus Republic of Gamers (ROG) is ready to conquer Davao as it opened on Friday, January 18, the newest Mindanao District of the Republic at the SM City Davao - Annex, the fifth ROG concept store in the Philippines.

ROG is Asus’ sub-brand dedicated for the gaming community.

Joey Nocom, Asus ROG country product manager for PC Gaming, said during the store’s opening that the Davao store completed the company’s target of establishing five ROG concept stores in the country.

Other four concept stores are in SM Megamall in Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City; SM City North Edsa in Quezon City; SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City; and SM City Cebu.

“Davao has one of the biggest numbers of enthusiasts than casual gamers. Davao is the 4th biggest in terms of activation of ROG. We see a lot of people here (Davao) going for more high-end PCs and laptops for gaming. The Davao market has a high purchasing power,” he said added that the strong market here is reflective to various organized groups of gamers here.

For the Davao store, the interior design and branding is the same with its Taiwan headquarters.

“This is one of the few stores outside Taiwan with this design. The neon lights, the cuts, the branding, everything is based in Taiwan. It is well-lit, well cut, and aggressive looking than the four concept stores in the country,” Nocom added.

All ROG products up to the latest – with prices from P50,000 to P300,000 - will be made available in the Davao store to give its clients the full ROG experience.

At present, Asus has 27 stores, 22 of which are regular stores with ROG corners.

“We plan to put up more Asus stores with ROG corners but as to concept stores we are okay for now with five outlets because we wanted it to be exclusive especially for casual gamers and enthusiasts,” he said.
