THE Iloilo City Government aims to maintain proper sanitation of the surroundings during the celebration of 2019 Dinagyang Festival.
They will assign 90 street sweepers for City Proper and 10 inspectors and supervisors to monitor the areas, General Services Offices (GSO) assistant head Engineer Neil Ravena said.
Each of the five judging areas, they prepared two portable toilets (portalets) including the Freedom Grandstand. It will have four portalets aside from its built-in comfort rooms.
GSO perceived that after the festival, the waste or garbage will be triple or quadruple in which, they set 220 street sweepers on Monday, January 21, to clean the city.
Last year, Ravena said that they accumulated about 40 to 50 tons of waste after the festival that is equivalent to 25 trucks for only one wave mostly organic and biodegradable materials.
