THE business one-stop shop (Boss) in La Trinidad will continue to operate until January 31.
Mayor Romeo Salda said the extension of the one-stop shop is in response to the clamor from the business sector to complete the renewal and issuance of business permits with the deadline set on January 21.
The Boss started January 3.
“We are anticipating that more people with still be flocking to the Business One Stop Shop and we might not be able to serve them until January 21,” the mayor said.
Following the extension of the Boss, corresponding penalties for those who would be paying until January 31 will also be waived.
“This year, we have a target of 4,900. Initial report is that we have more than 3,000 approved [business] applications,” he added.
Boss is a single common site designated for all to process applications for business registration. The Benguet capital town designated its municipal gymnasium besides the municipal building to cater to all renewal and approval of business or mayors permit.
The chief executive noted Hedcor Inc. remains one of the top taxpayers in the municipality.
Based on business permits and licensing section data, real estate lessor comprise the largest local registered businesses in 2018 with 33 percent, followed by sari-sari store with 25 percent, while vegetable trading is at 15 percent followed by dry goods (7%), computer shops (5%), restaurants and eatery (4%), vegetable retailing, rice retailing and fruit retailing (3%0; and bars (2%).
