JULITO Albiso of Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur and Mary Joy Parocha of Davao City emerged champions in the Ultron Vertical KM 2019 held in an out-and-back course from Mt. Loay in Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur over the weekend.
Albiso timed 53 minutes and 57 seconds to beat two other Sta. Cruz entries Ronie Torlao and Larry Mark Monang in the men's five-kilometer event.
Torlao clocked 54:10, while Moang checked in at 54:21 to place second and third, respectively.
In the distaff side, Parocha registered 1:20:23 to race past rivals Mary-Ann Bequira of Sta. Cruz and Widmer Karin who landed in the next two spots. Bequira finished second with 1:21:20 while Widmer had 1:22:06 to claim the third place.
A total of 91 runners signed up but only 85 were recorded as official finishers. However, three finishers beyond cut-off.
