TWO separate fire incidents hit some parts of Davao City on Sunday evening, January 20.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Davao said it received the first fire alarm at 9:05 p.m., with the fire ongoing at Navarro National High School, Barangay Lasang.

The blaze started from a stockpile of garbage near a one-storey building. The estimated damage to property amounted to P1,000.

"Portion lang sa building ang nadamage sa (A portion of the school building was damaged in Lasang)," BFP Davao chief of intelligence and investigation section Senior Fire Officer (SFO) 2 Ramil Gillado said in a text message Monday, January 21.

There were no reports of injuries or casualties in the incident.

The fire was put under control at 9:15 p.m. and was declared out at 09:35 p.m.

Ember that was left after cooking by the tenant of the school was the probable cause of fire, said the BFP.

The second fire incident happened at the Lucky Real JunkStore in Barangay Baliok, Toril, Davao City. Damage to properties was pegged at P1,000.

Gillado said the fire damaged the shop's junk materials.

No casualties were reported.
