7 busted for narcotics in Negros Occidental

SEVEN persons were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations from January 17 to 20.

On January 20, Rono Randy Padreñas, 27, of Barangay Poblacion 2, Sagay City was collared in a drug bust in the said village which resulted to the recovery of four sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P5,000 and the P500 marked money.

Last week, Gregory Fernandez, 41, of Barangay Zone 4-A, Talisay City was arrested in a drug bust in the said village while his younger brother Mark Fernandez managed to escape during the operation on Friday, January 18.

Police recovered from Gregory a sachet of suspected shabu.

Arrested on Thursday, January 17 in Barangay 2, Bacolod City was a 17-year-old girl of Barangay Banago after she allegedly dropped a plastic sachet while on board a tricycle in a police checkpoint.

Police found out that the suspect was reportedly in possession of eight sachets of suspected shabu weighing six grams worth P72,000.

Also arrested on the same day in Sipalay City was Josie Sarintas, 47, of Barangay Canturay, a level one high-value target drug personality.

Sarintas allegedly yielded five sachets of suspected shabu, the P500 marked money, a tooter, 11 lighters, and 38 empty plastic sachets.

In Victorias City, Esmeraldo Navaja, 43, a top two high-value target and drug surrenderer; and Gilbert Jamola, 34, newly-identified drug personality, both residents of Barangay 6, were arrested on Thursday after police seized from them four sachets of suspected shabu worth P3,000, the P200 marked money, P150 in cash, four lighters, aluminum foil, and coin purse.

In San Carlos City, Christian Diputado, 24, of Barangay 6 was arrested on the same day after police allegedly caught him in possession of a caliber .38 revolver loaded with four live ammunition.

Police also confiscated from him a sling bag, two sachets of suspected shabu worth P1,200, crumpled aluminum foil, three wrist watches, three selfie sticks, a stolen cellular phone, and assorted jewelry. (GYM)
