Negros top cop inspects 12 police stations

SENIOR Superintendent Romeo Baleros, officer-in-charge of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo), made a surprise visit to 12 police stations in northern Negros over the weekend.

Baleros conducted an inspection to police stations in the cities of Bago, Himamaylan, Kabankalan, and Sipalay; and municipalities of Pulupandan, Valladolid, San Enrique, Binalbagan, Candoni, Cauayan, Ilog, and Hinoba-an.

He also visited the Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force 2nd company based in Hinigaran town.

He reminded his men to always be alert.

Chief Inspector Edison Garcia, public information officer of Nocppo, said Baleros reiterated to the station personnel their functions and services to the people in maintaining peace and order in their respective areas.

“He (Baleros) wants to check the effectiveness of his men under his supervision,” Garcia said.

Baleros also tested the readiness of the personnel and security of the police stations, he added.

The provincial police top cop checked the uniforms of the police if they wore it properly and if they were equipped with firearms.

Baleros also checked their cleanliness and how they accommodate individuals going to the police stations asking for assistance.

Based on his assessment, Baleros said the station personnel implemented and followed the instructions of the higher headquarters.

He reminded them to stay apolitical and perform their mandate in protecting the safety of the people, especially that the midterm and local election is approaching. (GYM)
