Philip ‘Flip’ Ocampo writes 30

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- After months of battling leukemia, Philip Vincent C. Ocampo, 26, peacefully joined his Creator on Monday, January 21.

Ocampo, who finished his AB Communications degree at University of the Assumption in 2012, started his career in media as news department head at Brigada News FM 92.7 Pampanga from 2015 to 2016.

Fondly called “Flip” by family and friends, he joined the Mother of Good Counsel Seminary in 2008. He was also affiliated with Rotaract Club of Central Pampanga.

Before serving as a writer at the Pampanga Provincial Information Office (PIO), he became a liaison officer at Asia Pacific Center for English School in Guiguinto, Bulacan.

At 26, he enjoyed his life as a media practitioner with years of experience as a journalist, radio producer and anchor, television producer and writer.

On Sunday night (January 20, 2019), many were shocked when he posted on Facebook a “goodbye message” to his girlfriend and these words: "Final word for tonight: The enemy's fighting you not because you're weak. He's fighting you because you're strong."

His body now lies at #458 San Miguel, Betis, Guagua. Mass will first be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. before his interment on January 26. (Leah Isidro De Fiesta/Pampanga PIO)
