Oro extends deadline for business permit renewal to Jan. 31

THE Cagayan de Oro City Council on Monday, January 21, has moved to extend the business permit renewal from January 20 to January 31.

According to engineer Leonil Mistula, the acting assistant city treasurer, more than 60 percent of businessmen in Cagayan de Oro City have their business permits renewed as of January 21.

"So naa pa tay mga 35 percent siguro nga nabilin nga magpa-issue pa ug business permit. Maybe nakabayad na sila. Di nako makita kung pila na ang nakabayad, pila na ka porsyento, pero ang na-isyuhan og permit naa na ta sa 60 plus percent," Mistula said.

"Naa man gyud uban nga madugay pa sila og pa-issue og permit kay bag-o pa sila nagbayad," he added.

Mistula said they will not be able to achieve 100 percent as some of the businesses in the city stop operating while some just recently opened.

"Kaning uban nga mga business permit, mga new sila last year, ang uban mag stop na sila karon, dili na sila mobalik og business. Dili gyud nato maabot ang 100 percent kay sa last year pa lang daan, daghan ang mga newly opened nga businesses na dili na mag renew karon," Mistula said.

The city treasurer's office and the Business One-Stop Shop at the city hall will be open up to 7 p.m. until January 31, including weekends.

The transaction services in the satellite business registration centers in SM CDO Downtown Premier and SM City Cagayan de Oro uptown are also extended until the said deadline.

Online payment services is also made available, particularly tax billing and business tax payment, which can be accessed through www.cagayandeoro.gov.ph.
