Clark positioned as vacation haven

A TOP official of the Clark Investors and Locators Association (Cila) said Clark has developed into a vacation haven.

During the grand launching of the Aqua Planet, a world-class water theme park in Clark, Cila chairman Irineo "Bong" Alvaro, Jr. said that majority of the Philippines’ neighbors know only Manila.

"Normally, they know Manila. But they don't know that there is this Clark which is a vacation haven," Alvaro, who is also the president of BB International which operates Aqua Planet, said.

During the event, Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Assistant Secretary Elmer Cato invited and accompanied ambassadors from various Asean countries to tour the 10-hectare facility which is the biggest water park in Asia.

The DFA and the BB International had invited officials from the embassies of Brunei, Indonesia, Myanmar, Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam to promote Clark, according to Cato.

"Actually, this is a follow up to the first one with when we arrange a tour for the children of the soldiers who fought in Marawi City siege last year," the DFA official said.

"This is part two of the DFA-Aqua Planet partnership to promote Clark," Alvaro said.

Hajah Johariah binti Haji Abd, Brunei Ambassador to the Philippines, thanked and lauded the DFA and Aqua Planet for arranging the tour in Clark.

"We will definitely come back here. The kids are excited. It is good that they bring us here so that we know what we can expect in Clark," she said.
