Bukidnon, MisOr farmers stage protest on land reform

AROUND 100 farmers in Misamis Oriental and Bukidnon on Tuesday, January 22, staged a demonstration calling the government to implement the genuine land reform.

The Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas-Northern Mindanao (KMP) held the protest action in commemoration of the 32nd anniversary of the Mendiola massacre.

Ireneo Udarbe, KMP-Northern Mindanao secretary-general, said farmers have relentlessly calling the government to implement genuine land reform.

The farmers remembered the plight of their fellow farmers during the Mendiola massacre, some 32 years ago.

Udarbe also slammed the Duterte administration for extending the Martial Law in Mindanao, which for him adversely affect the farmers and civilians in hinterland communities.
