In the words of proprietress Ramona “Monique” Pacheco-Ouano, “I’m no designer, but an embellisher,” she said. She purchases soft, exotic fabrics, has them hand-painted and puts the finishing touches on them. Be it beadwork, glitters, or what have you. Best selling kaftans are those with florals, bird faces and animal prints.
Launching fashion night was at Anzani Prime Restaurant, where Monique’s extended family, friends, fans and classmates gathered to cheer her on!
Undisputed, Monique (or Monina, as we classmates call her) was the evening’s best model, as she sashayed to and from, with confidence and passion! By show’s end, three grandmas and four matrons had made their choices. Some sexy singles were still deciding on the color.
