Bacolod cops told to boost drug operations

ALL station commanders and personnel of drug enforcement teams in 10 police stations in Bacolod City were reminded to step up their operations against illegal drugs.

Chief Inspector Ariel Pico, public information officer of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said the station drug enforcement teams in all 10 police stations were required to conduct at least one operation against illegal drugs every week.

“Those with zero accomplishment will be subjected for reshuffling upon the assessment of Senior Superintendent Henry Biñas, officer-in-charge of BCPO,” he added.

They will be called at the BCPO headquarters to ask them about the reason for their non-compliance, after which, Biñas will decide if there is a need to relieve them from their posts, Pico said.

He added that most of the police stations in the city have complied with the directive.

Meanwhile, Pico confirmed that Inspector Adrian James Albaytar, assistant team leader of City Drug Enforcement Unit, was transferred to Police Regional Office– Western Visayas in Iloilo City after some personnel of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit were also moved to Bacolod and Negros Occidental upon the assumption of Senior Superintendent Romeo Baleros, officer-in-charge of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office.
