THE Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) in Bacolod City reminded the public of safeguards that should be properly observed by bettors of lottery games.
“For lottery games from 6/42, 6/45, 6/49, 6/55, and 6/58 lotto including digit games such as 3D and 4D, make it a habit that after you put you your bet, you have to check on if the numbers are correctly entered in the tickets and make sure of the dates of the draw for your bets. Check your tickets before leaving the counter,” said branch manager Jose Manuel Villagracia.
“And before leaving the counter, you should make sure of your would-be winnings by signing or putting your signature at the back of the ticket. That's the only basis for your winning because the signature is the only safeguard for your bets because the tickets do not bear the bettors name or any personal data,” he pointed out.
He also emphasized that because of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion (Train) Law, the lottery winnings are now subject to a 20 percent tax.
Villagracia also confirmed there was only one jackpot winner of P58 million in the January 19 6/58 Ultra Lotto who is from Bacolod City.
The seller or outlet of the winning ticket also got one percent of the total jackpot prize won, Villagracia confirmed.
