Yanson realty firm offers Bacolod P440-M worth of lot

THE Yanson Realty Development Corporation (YRDC) offered to donate an 8.8-hectare lot for the City Government of Bacolod.

Acting Mayor El Cid Familiaran said on Wednesday, January 23, the Yanson family offered their property in Barangays Alijis and Tangub for the people of Bacolod.

“They will donate 8.8 hectares with the total costs of the property of P440 million, and it’s up to the City Council if they will accept the donation,” he said.

If the city government will accept it, Familiaran said the property will house the south terminal, museum which will be financed by Senator Miguel Zubiri, and the Coliseum.

He said the construction of these projects in the said areas will bring economic growth as well as it will decongest Lopez Jaena Street.

In 2015, the YRDC donated its 51,406-square meter property at the Circumferential Road in Barangay Tangub for the construction of the south terminal.

Familiaran said the terminal will cater all southbound buses except the eastbound going to Murcia and Don Salvador.

“I don’t know what will be the action of the City Council, but for me, this is a donation and we are thankful to the Yanson family,” he said.

“It’s a big help for the development of Bacolod,” he added. (MAP)
