Vicente: A warrior’s fall

“YOU may have lost a battle but you haven’t lost the war” is a quote that every warrior should epitomize in the world of competitive martial arts where ups and down are inevitable. The warrior’s culture of rising after a fall is a must, or else surrender means defeat entirely. The heart they say fights the hardest and the one which stays the strongest, unlike our body which can only cope as much but sometimes could not match up.

The true heart of a warrior is made out of mystically highest grade steel that could with stand any challenge of either victory or defeat.

Amazingly, it refuses to accept setback and pursues to bounce back after recovering. Many martial artists have showcased this kind of heart and what better warriors to embody such characteristic and values than the backbones of the regarded Team Lakay of Baguio City.

“Come hell or high waters” they have significantly showed the heart and character of a true martial artist.

Team Lakay has done it all, carving a legacy that would inspire many generations and have personified the great values of martial arts honed through many generations and as they pave their path to greatness, they are faced with many test of fortitude.

Amidst of it all, their heart always rises to any occasion, be it a champion or a champion of their people.

Truly, who could not see or find inspiration on what they have achieved, knowing from where they have come from and witnessing how they handle things in life. Amidst the puddles in the path, they manage to build bridges to get to the other side.

For those who question their heart reflect from the words of one of their champions.

“It does not matter who wins or loses, because before the match even started, we both have won already by entering the ring or the octagon which not anyone can muster to do or have the opportunity to experience.”

And with, falling is just a glitch. You have already achieved, when a warrior bounces back from a fall.
