Libulan selects 11 fellows for annual creative writing workshop

THE Libulan Queer Collective is set to hold the 2019 Cebu Young Writers Studio on Feb. 21 and 22 at the University of Cebu–Banilad in Cebu City.

The selection committee has chosen 11 writing fellows from 89 applicants, after a rigorous screening and deliberation process.

The writing fellows for poetry are Kyla Presmei Depakakibo, Jennifer D. Ebdani, Eugene A. Magallanes III, Gino P. Paradela and Alek Daniel L. Sy.

For fiction, the fellows are Bryle Felix Javier, Kenjiro P. Mitsui and Jimbo M. Pantas.

Astrid Marie Ilano and Marvin Florentino Pableo are the writing fellows for essay.

The lone fellow for drama is Reyna C. Cadiz.

The Cebu Young Writers Studio will consist of manuscripts critiquing and consultation, craft lectures on literary genres and writing process, mentoring sessions, inputs from alternative press editors and other parallel writing exercises.

Young writers from the Libulan Queer Collective, Hablon, and other young writers groups from the southern Philippines will facilitate these activities.

The craft lectures will be delivered by the editors of the forthcoming Dan-ag Literary Journal of Central Visayas.
