Tony Labrusca gets working permit after airport incident

AFTER an altercation with immigrant officers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), Tony Labrusca has acquired a working permit and returned to filming with director Joey Reyes for the movie “Ang Babae sa Septic Tank 3: The Real Untold Story of Josephine Bracken.”

Last January 3, Labrusca allegedly shouted and cursed at immigration officers at the Terminal 1 of NAIA after being informed he was only given one month to stay in the country.

A netizen, who witnessed the exchange between Labrusca and the officers, posted on Facebook that Labrusca did not have a “Philippine passport, was not even born in the Philippines, and not travelling with Filipino parents, but want the same treatment as the other former Filipinos.”

He said the officers were only stalling him and insisted that he has pile of work lined up.

Labrusca has since apologized for what he did. However, the Intelligence Division of the Bureau of Immigration is still investigating the incident and whether or not they would file a case against the actor.

The actor passed his appeal to the Bureau of Immigration to recognize him as a Filipino citizen.

Despite of the incident, he has started filming last Wednesday, January 23. The said movie will be aired on iWant TV.

In an Instagram post of director Joey Reyes, he posted a selfie with Labrusca with the caption: “Now taping: #babaesaspetictank3 with Labrusca! On camera work!”

He followed it up with another group selfie with the caption: “ANG BABAE SA SEPTIC TANK 3: The Real Untold Story of Josephine Bracken - NOW FILMING! #behappy.”

One netizen asked the director if Labrusca finally got a working permit through his Instagram account. The director replied, “Yes, he has acquired the working permit. Otherwise, he would not be on set."(Von Daniel R. Plasencia, USC intern)
