HE police arrested on Friday, January 25, an alleged member of the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) in an east coast village of Zamboanga City, an official said.
Arrested was Daud Isnani alias Umbra, 33, a resident of Arena Blanco village, 9.26 kilometers east of this city, according to Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Luis Licup, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula director.
Licup said Isnani was arrested by the joint operatives of the Regional Anti-Criminality Task Group and Police Station 6 around 7 a.m. Friday in Talon-Talon village.
He said Isnani has standing seven-count warrant of arrest for the crime of kidnapping and serious illegal detention with no bail recommended issued on January 28, 2008 by the court of Isabela City, Basilan province.
At present, Isnani is detained at Police Station 6 headquarters and will be turned over to the concerned court. (SunStar Philippines)
