NPC general assembly, election on January 26

THE Negros Press Club (NPC), the oldest press club in the Philippines, will have its annual general assembly and election of the new set of officers on Saturday, January 26.

The activity will be held at NPC Building on San Juan Street in Bacolod City and will start at 1 p.m.

The existing officers led by President Renato Duran, of dyEZ Aksyon Radyo-Bacolod, will present the club's accomplishment for 2018.

Duran, who is also delivering his president's report, was elected as such for two consecutive years, from 2017.

After the general assembly, the members will also elect the Membership Committee. It will be followed by the nomination and election of officers.

Originally, the general assembly and election are held every third Saturday of January.

However, due to the untimely demise of administrative secretary Mae Marañon, it was moved to January 26.

Established in 1936, NPC is comprised of about 150 member-practitioners from different media outlets in the province. (PR)
