FOLLOWING the upbeat economic climate in Davao City, the Philippines' leading home improvement and construction supply retailer, Wilcon Depot, opens its 52nd depot store nationwide located in Panacan, Davao City on Friday, January 25.

The 12,000 square meter-big depot will cater to the increasing demand of home building materials in Davao City. The company’s Panacan branch is its second store in the said city and sixth store in Mindanao.

Wilcon SEVP-Chief Operating Officer Rosemarie Bosch-Ong said that they felt the need to open another store in Davao City because of the upward trend of economic activities and massive potentials.

“We believe that putting up another store in Davao is certainly an ideal choice. Davao is now a hotspot and premier hub for education, industry, commerce, trade, among others, in Mindanao. It is a booming and emerging city with a lot of economic and real-estate activities,” she said.

Ong also added that all its stores, even outside Metro Manila, still offer the same “superior service and top-notch international brands.”

Located at Block 2, Valle Verde, Panacan Diversion Road, the new Wilcon Depot branch offers thousands of reliable local and international brands ranging from Tiles, Sanitarywares, Plumbing, Furniture, Home Interior, Building Materials, Hardware, Electrical, Appliances, and other do it yourself items – all arranged in an organized and clutter-free manner inside an air-conditioned store.

“In terms of product selection, we keep on adding and developing new product lines and even the expanding categories. As we progress, we continue to upgrade our system and services,” she said.

Wilcon boasts of its multitude of services that give customers convenient shopping experience like free parking spaces, reliable delivery service, and tile cutting service, among others.

They also provide a service that allows customers in creating their desired three-dimensional layout through computer software with a cost estimate and product list made possible in Design Hub section inside the store.

Meanwhile, the company also launched its digital store–Wilcon Online Shop.

“We are both enhancing our physical and digital presence, this e-commerce platform will also be made available outside Manila soon,” Ong said.

She also shared that Wilcon Depot is set to open eight more stores this year including branches in Opol, Cagayan De Oro, and Tagum, Davao Del Norte. All these are part of its ongoing expansion to fulfill its commitment to have a total of 67 operating stores by 2020.

Wilcon Depot first entered Mindanao in 2002 with its Matina, Davao City branch.
