IN PHOTOS: Cokaliong launches 13th vessel

COKALIONG Shipping Lines Inc. (CSLI) launched on Saturday, January 26, its world-class vessel, M/V Filipinas Cagayan de Oro.

The roll-on roll-off (roro) passenger vessel is the 13th vessel of the Cokaliong fleet. It will ply the Cebu-Cagayan de Oro route.

Chester Cokaliong, founder, chief executive officer and chief operating officer of CSLI, said the vessel was acquired for 285 million yen and had its home port in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan.

The vessel can carry around 631 passengers.

She will replace M/V Filipinas Jagna which will take its mandatory drydocking.

M/V Filipinas Cagayan de Oro will begin sailing on the first week of February.

Local and national political personalities joined CSLI founder, chief executive officer and chief operating officer Chester Cokaliong at the event.

These included former Bureau of Corrections head Ronald dela Rosa, Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos, former presidential spokesman Harry Roque, Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Michael Dino and Senator Nancy Binay.
